The XIV New York Game Awards ceremony took place, where the winners are determined by a professional jury, which includes critics, profile journalists and media personalities.

Here's What We Know

Expectedly, the main triumphant was the cute platformer Astro Bot - the game from Sony and Team Asobi won three prizes, including the title of the Best Game of the Year.

Two awards were given to Shadow of the Erdtree for Elden Ring. Silent Hill 2 remake and Metaphor: ReFantazio received only one statuette each, while one of the most highly praised games of 2024, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, received no awards at all.

Remedy Entertainment's Sam Lake received the Andrew Yoon Legend Award and made a nice gesture of dedicating it to the memory of film director David Lynch, who died a few days ago, and acknowledging that his work was Lake's inspiration for many years
