Ted Price, the founder and CEO of Insomniac Games, has announced his retirement after more than three decades of leading the company. He will officially step down at the end of March 2025.

Here's What We Know

Insomniac Games was founded by Ted Price in 1994 and is known for creating such popular franchises as Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet Clank, Resistance, and Marvel's Spider-Man. Price said that the decision to step down was made last year, as he felt it was time to "let others pave the way for our team".

After Price's departure, the studio will be run by three people: Chad Dezern, who previously served as creative director; Ryan Schneider, former head of franchise strategy and studio relations; and Jen Huang, who has been the studio's CFO for the past eight years. Price expressed his confidence in their abilities, noting that they "have been key in shaping Insomniac into what it is today".

In his farewell address, Price thanked the team and fans for their support, stressing that the studio is in one of its strongest positions in recent years, and that all current projects look "great and play fantastic". He also expressed his joy at being able to enjoy future Insomniac games as a player, free of professional responsibilities.

Insomniac Games will continue its operations under the new management, focusing on developing high-quality games for its fans. The studio is currently working on projects such as Marvel's Wolverine and the sequel to the Marvel's Spider-Man series.
