From insider information it has long been known that Ubisoft is preparing a platform under the working title Assassin's Creed Infinity, which will be a digital hub for the launch of all subsequent parts of the series and some already released games.

Finally, the French developer officially presented the project and revealed its main features.

Here's What We Know

From now on Assassin's Creed Infinity will be officially named Animus Hub and will launch on the 20th of March - the day of Assassin's Creed Shadows release.

It will be a digital platform that will allow to easily view progress in Assassin's Creed games, launch them from a single virtual environment, get various in-game rewards, for example, for completing some tests you can get weapons in Assassin's Creed Shadows and exchange them for other items if you want.

Animus Hub is a convenient entry point to the newest games in the Assassinʼs Creed series. When you first launch Assassinʼs Creed Shadows, you'll be immediately immersed in the new Animus environment - a hacked Dark Animus located in the modern world of Assassinʼs Creed. As you move around the Hub, you'll be able to access a timeline of the franchise's latest heroes, additional quest chains in AC Shadows, and most importantly, free rewards that will unlock as you progress.

The main things to know about Animus Hub:

  • The platform will be a convenient and easy entry point into the Assassinʼs Creed franchise;
  • the Memories tab will allow you to run different games in the series. The video shows Shadows, Mirage, Valhalla, Odyssey and Origins (they must be installed on the device or at least have a disc inserted in the drive), but it was previously reported that all parts of the series will eventually be added to the hub;
  • The Projects tab displays special quests, the completion of which will grant access to weapons and armour;
  • The Exchange tab allows you to exchange items with other players or sell them for virtual currency;
  • The Vault tab displays information about events taking place in different Assassin's Creed games, including those outside of virtual reality;
  • Animus Hub will appear in all versions of Assassin's Creed Shadows - on PC, Mac, Amazon Luna, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and the Ubisoft+ service;
  • Animus Hub is not a standalone app, but a service integrated into Shadows. The developer has no plans to turn it into a service similar to Steam or Epic Games Store;
  • for now, special missions will only be available in Assassin's Creed Shadows;
  • keys that unlock access to content in Animus Hub can not be bought for real money - they are given as a reward for completing missions;
  • the service doesn't necessarily require internet access, but without it you can't open the "Projects", "Sharing" and "Storage" tabs.

It remains to be seen how the public will embrace Animus Hub, but Ubisoft is optimistic and has big plans for the platform.
