2025 is going to be an extremely busy year for Microsoft: a respected journalist has revealed which games will be released and unveiled in the near future
The Xbox Developer_Direct show took place last week, where Microsoft unveiled details of upcoming major releases from partner studios. Gamers were shown detailed demos of Doom: The Dark Ages, South of the Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and even Ninja Gaiden 4 was announced.
All of these games will be released in 2025, but let's not forget that the Xbox brand has several other major releases planned for this year, including Fable, The Outer Worlds 2 and Avowed. But that's not all!
Here's What We Know
Tom Warren, editor-in-chief of the authoritative portal The Verge, summarised the Xbox Developer Direct and shared a few interesting predictions.
Firstly, the journalist confirmed that a remake/remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is indeed in development. He believes that it was planned to be released in the spring or early summer of 2025, but it is likely that Microsoft has pushed the release to a later date.
Warren also has information that Gears of War: E-Day was planned to be released in 2025. Warren believes that the release of the shooter will take place in the second half of the year, and the release date will be announced most likely in June at the annual Xbox Games Showcase. At the same time, the company will reveal new details of the action game Contraband from Avalanche studio, which was announced back in 2021, and RPG with elements of shooter Clockwork Revolution from the studio inXile Entertainment. It is likely that these two games will be released in 2026.
Recall, all the projects mentioned in this material from the first day will be available in Xbox Game Pass.
