Another tough decision: Ubisoft has closed its UK division and is carrying out another wave of redundancies

Ubisoft continues to fight for its independent existence and takes tough measures to get out of the crisis, which led to several high-profile failures and short-sighted decisions of the French publisher's management.
Here's What We Know
The company has announced the closure of its UK division Ubisoft Leamington, and its 50-strong team will be dissolved, although some employees will continue to work remotely. And in total, Ubisoft plans to cut 185 jobs, which includes office teams from Düsseldorf, Stockholm and Newcastle.
As part of our ongoing efforts to prioritise projects and reduce costs that ensure Ubisoft's long-term stability, we have announced a targeted restructuring of Ubisoft Düsseldorf, Ubisoft Stockholm and Ubisoft Reflections, as well as the complete closure of the Ubisoft Leamington office. Unfortunately, a total of 185 employees will be affected. We are deeply grateful for their contributions and are committed to supporting them during this transition period.
As a reminder, Ubisoft Leamington was created in 2017 from FreeStyleGames, a studio known for the DJ Hero series of games. Ironically, but as part of Ubisoft it was this team that worked on the failed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones and Star Wars Outlaws, the releases of which largely led the company to the current problems.
