Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has confirmed that the company has no plans to stop supporting the Xbox Series S console or release games exclusive to the Xbox Series X. He noted that the growing popularity of portable PCs and the expected release of Nintendo Switch 2 indicate a trend towards the development of games for devices with different technical characteristics.

Here's What We Know

Spencer stressed that the experience of developing for Xbox Series S gives the company an advantage in adapting games for devices with different technical capabilities, such as Steam Deck or ROG Ally. He also noted that modern game engines allow for scalable performance, providing a high-quality gaming experience across multiple platforms.

Despite the criticism of the Xbox Series S's limited technical capabilities, Spencer stressed that the console remains an important part of Microsoft's strategy, especially given its accessibility to a wider audience. He also noted that he is playing a new Indiana Jones game on Xbox Series S and it looks great, demonstrating the console's ability to deliver a modern gaming experience.

Thus, Microsoft continues to support the Xbox Series S, seeing it as an important element of its ecosystem and strategy for making games accessible to different categories of players.
