Eternal Strands action-RPG from Yellow Brick Games studio, founded by Dragon Age author Mike Laidlaw, has been released.

Critics got acquainted with the novelty beforehand and published their reviews.

Here's What We Know

Eternal Strands failed to impress the reviewers, they stated that this is a middle-class game, which has interesting ideas and unusual mechanics, but because of the small budget and relatively small development team, they did not manage to realise and develop them to the fullest.

The main feature of the game is battles with giant monsters, and this element turned out to be interesting and of high quality, but the other aspects of Eternal Strands were not so successful. The game has a boring story, unmemorable characters, an overloaded interface, and many mechanics suffer due to being overly confusing and non-obvious.

Eternal Strands received the following scores:

  • Opencritic - 75 points with 63% recommendation;
  • Metacritic - 70 to 77 points depending on platform.

It may seem that Eternal Strands was not liked by critics at all, but that's not the case. They don't call it bad (the scores say so!), but they note that not everyone will like the game.

Eternal Strands is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and the Game Pass catalogue.
