Garmin watch users report a bug in the update that causes devices to freeze on the "blue triangle"
Users of Garmin GPS watches have encountered a problem after the latest software update. Some Garmin watches are freezing on the screen with a "blue triangle" and not working, according to users on forums.
Here's What We Know
Garmin has already acknowledged the problem. In a statement to Engadget, the company said: "We are aware of an issue that is causing some devices to remain on the blue triangle home screen." They also recommend following the support page for updates.
Garmin forums have a post with a temporary solution: hold down the power button until the device turns off, then turn it back on and sync it via Garmin Connect or Garmin Express. However, users note that this method does not always work - some devices revert to the blue triangle state.
Someone on Reddit suggested that the problem is related to the file responsible for GPS. In particular, models of the Forerunner, Venu, Fenix, Vivoactive, and Epix lines suffer from this error.
If your device is still working smoothly, it is recommended to switch it off until an official solution from Garmin appears. For those who have already encountered the problem, there are also unofficial (and untested) solutions on Reddit.
Garmin has recently introduced a new update for the Fenix 8, Enduro 3, and Fenix E as part of its beta programme. The Beta Version 13.21 update is currently rolling out in stages and contains about twelve bug fixes, as well as several new features.
