Oppo is developing a new foldable smartphone that could be thinner than the iPad Pro M4 (5.1 mm). The Oppo Find N5 (or OnePlus Open 2) is expected to be about 4 mm thick when unfolded.

Here's What We Know

For comparison, the predecessor of Oppo Find N3 is 5.8 mm when expanded, and the expected Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is 6.4 mm.

For example, the Honor Magic V3 is 4.35 mm when expanded.

Oppo's President of International Marketing Billy Zhang has already hinted at the record thinness of the device, comparing it to the iPad Pro M4. Oppo has also previously stated that the new product will be significantly thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro Max (8.25 mm).

However, the thin body is not the only advantage. The Find N5 may feature the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 6.85-inch LTPO display with 2K resolution, and an improved screen fold. The main camera will be a triple module with Hasselblad customisation, and its protrusion will be smaller than that of the Find N3.

Despite the compact design, the smartphone will have a 5,900 mAh battery (compared to 4,805 mAh in the OnePlus Open) with support for 50-watt wireless charging. In addition, it will be IPX9 waterproof.

Recently, new images have emerged on Weibo, showing the front screen and rear camera module. The new image of the Oppo Find N5 reveals more design details. The images of the Oppo Find N5 were leaked by automotive influencer Chen Zhen, who has a large audience of 9.638 million followers. He had previously leaked a video of the Lynk Co 900, for which he received a 5 million yuan fine before the car's official release.
