On the 4th of February, Detsiny 2 will release the next episode after "The Final Shape" - "Heresy", which will return players to the familiar but changed location - Oryx's Dreadnaught. Although it used to be a massive ship orbiting Saturn, it has undergone changes and now offers new challenges and experiences.
Here's What We Know
According to the story's creator, Nikko Stevens, the ship has "woken up" after nearly a decade of sleep, prompting the Vanguard and Guardians to explore it.
The episode introduces a new activity, The Nether, which combines patrolling, challenging enemy encounters in different areas, and boss battles. As you progress, the enemy's level of power will increase, but various bonuses will help you withstand these threats. Minor power-ups give a stat boost, major power-ups provide passive benefits such as stacking static charge during sprints, and corrupted power-ups introduce a risk-reward mechanic, increasing both damage dealt and damage received.
Senior designer Ryan Harris said that the game is also experimenting with player modifiers, including increasing health, forgoing health regeneration, limiting ammo drops, and adding revival tokens, pushing players to create survival-focused gear.
