Pixel 9a will appear earlier than its predecessor. According to a report, Google plans to announce the new Pixel 9a budget smartphone several months earlier than expected.

Here's What We Know

Leaks indicate that this smartphone will be available for pre-order from 19 March 2025, and deliveries are planned to start next week, on 26 March. For those who want to buy it in the store, the Pixel 9a will be available on the shelves on the same day.

Instead of the usual May release date, the Pixel 9a will be unveiled in March, part of a strategy launched with the Pixel 9 series, which was announced ahead of schedule in August 2024.

Compared to the previous model, the Pixel 9a offers improvements in cameras, battery, and faster charging. The upgrade will include a 6.2-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 3 protection, as well as the latest Tensor G4 processor with 8GB of RAM.

The main novelty will be a 48-megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera on the back, as well as another 13-megapixel camera on the front. As for the battery, it will have a capacity of 5100 mAh, and support for fast charging will increase to 23W, although wireless charging will remain at 7.5W.

The price of the Pixel 9a ranges from $499 for the 128GB version to $599 for the 256GB. The novelty will compete with other budget models that will also appear in March, such as the Nothing Phone (3a) and Samsung Galaxy A56.

Google Pixel 9a may be available in four colours: Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris and Peony.
