BioWare Studio has announced a reorganisation, as part of which some employees were transferred to other Electronic Arts divisions, and the core team focused on the development of Mass Effect 5.

Here's What We Know

BioWare general manager Gary McKay said that after the completion of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the studio is preparing for a "new chapter". The core team, led by Mike Gamble, Preston Watamaniuk, Derek Watts, and Parrish Lay, is now fully focused on the development of Mass Effect 5.

Since the project is at a stage that does not require the involvement of the entire staff, it was decided to optimise the size of the studio. Many employees were offered to move to other positions within EA.

However, IGN also reported that some of the developers did not receive new assignments, but were given time to look for other opportunities within the company. EA noted that BioWare now has "the right number of people in the right positions" for the current stage of Mass Effect 5 development.
