Doom creator John Romero believes that Game Pass does not harm game companies

John Romero, co-founder of id Software and one of the creators of the legendary Doom game, expressed his support for Xbox Game Pass, calling it "Netflix for games" and emphasising its positive impact on the video game industry.
Here's What We Know
In an interview for the Xbox Expansion Pass podcast, Romero said: "I love it. Who doesn't love Game Pass? It's the Netflix of gaming; who doesn't want it? It's great because you can try it before you buy it. The real barrier for people to play games is access to those games."
Romero also emphasised that Game Pass "doesn't hurt the game companies that created these games" as players can quickly get acquainted with new games. He believes that the service lowers barriers to access to games and helps players discover new projects that they might not have tried otherwise.
As a reminder, Game Pass managed to attract more people thanks to Indiana Jones and Call of Duty, but Xbox consoles became less popular thanks to Indiana Jones and Call of Duty, but fewer people started buying Xbox consoles.
