Bend Studio has laid off some contractors after the cancellation of a game service it had been working on for a long time

Bend Studio has fired several contractors who worked on the recently cancelled game by the service. According to Game Developer, their contract expires on 14 February.

Here's What We Know

In January, it became known that PlayStation cancelled two of its live-service projects. One of these projects was developed by the authors of Days Gone from Bend Studio. After that, only some contractors were offered permanent positions, while others were laid off.

Days Gone was released in 2019, but given the cancelled project, it's hard to imagine when the studio will show us something new.

It is currently unknown whether the layoffs affected Bluepoint Games employees who also worked on the service game.
