Sotheby's auction presents one of the most unusual collections of this year - more than 250 iPods that belonged to Karl Lagerfeld. The famous fashion designer not only followed fashion trends, but also had a fondness for the iconic Apple equipment. His collection included players of different models and colours, with each one loaded with a selection of songs by specific artists.

What do we know about the collection?

  • A variety of iPod models, from the classic iPod Classic to more modern versions
  • Each device has a personalised music selection so you can find out exactly what Lagerfeld was listening to.
  • Rare colours and variations - many devices are available in several colours.

How is the auction going?

The auction has already started on the Sotheby's website and will run until 31 January. The minimum price for a single lot has already exceeded $450, and it is expected that rare pieces can go for much more.

Lagerfeld's collection is not only a piece of fashion history, but also an interesting artefact for Apple fans. After all, the iPod has long since been discontinued, and the pieces that belonged to the iconic designer will be a unique item for collectors.
