Assault boats, trucks and ammunition: Sweden allocates the largest aid package to Ukraine worth $1.25bn

The Swedish government has announced the largest military aid package for Ukraine to date, worth $1.22 billion (SEK 13.5 billion).

The fleet of previously promised Stridsbåt 90 assault boats is to be doubled. The total number of these vessels in the Ukrainian Defence Forces will increase to 38: 32 from Sweden, 3 from donors and 3 from the Netherlands. Sweden will also provide 23 maritime combat modules to equip the boats.
The new aid package includes 146 trucks, 1 million rounds of 12.7 mm ammunition, 200 AT4 anti-tank grenade launchers (including training ones) and 1,500 missiles for TOW anti-tank missiles. In addition, Ukraine will receive individual and group equipment for infantry, as well as weapons of mass destruction protection.

Sweden is also allocating $58 million for training of the Ukrainian military abroad, and $71 million will be spent on repair and maintenance of the transferred weapons.
The country will provide $250 million to international funds to support Ukraine, of which $178 million will go to the Danish model of financing the Ukrainian defence industry. Another $534 million will be used to purchase artillery, drones, missiles and other weapons from international manufacturers.
