During the AI Tour in New York, Microsoft officially announced a new version of Surface Pro 11 with Intel Lunar Lake processors. Despite expectations, the company did not present Surface Pro 12, but instead released the third update of the Surface Pro line in a year.

Here's What We Know

The laptops are powered by Intel Core Ultra 5 236V, Core Ultra 5 238V, Core Ultra 7 266V, and Core Ultra 7 268V processors. The differences between the models lie in the amount of RAM: the 6V variants are equipped with 16 GB of RAM, and the 8V variants have 32 GB. Graphics capabilities also depend on the processor: The Core Ultra 5 uses Intel Arc Graphics 130V, while the Core Ultra 7 has the more productive Arc Graphics 140V.

Other features of the new Surface Pro include a choice of OLED displays, an NFC chip (for the first time in the series), and Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. Microsoft also claims a battery life of up to 14 hours, but the exact battery capacity is still unknown. The proprietary support for the Surface Pen stylus and detachable keyboard has also been retained.

Unlike the ARM version, the new Surface Pro is based on the traditional x86 architecture, which provides wider software compatibility. Thanks to the improved energy efficiency of Intel Lunar Lake chips, users can expect stable performance even when multitasking.

The starting price of the Intel-based Surface Pro 11 is $1,499.99. Sales will begin on 18 February. Along with the new Surface Pro, the company also introduced an updated Surface Laptop and a USB 4 dock. Microsoft continues to expand its ecosystem of devices by integrating advanced technologies aimed at improving productivity and user experience.
