Microsoft has announced new models of Surface Laptops equipped with Intel Lunar Lake processors, replacing the previous versions with Intel Meteor Lake and Snapdragon X chips.

Here's What We Know

The new devices promise improved performance and longer battery life compared to previous models.

The newest Surface Laptop models will be available in two sizes - 13.8-inch and 15-inch - and include the following processor configurations:

  • Core Ultra 5 236V with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and Arc 130V graphics
  • Core Ultra 5 238V with 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and Arc 130V graphics
  • Core Ultra 7 266V with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and Arc 140V graphics
  • Core Ultra 7 288V with 32GB LPDDR5X RAM and Arc 140V graphics

The new laptops are expected to provide up to 22 hours of operation when playing videos from local storage and up to 14 hours when surfing the Internet. Although the exact battery capacity has not yet been disclosed, similar to the Zenbook S14, the new Surface Laptops can achieve these figures using a 72Wh battery.

The new models also feature two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a 5G option that will be available later this year. The appearance of the new devices retains the changes introduced in the ARM-based models announced last year.

The price for the new Surface Laptops will start at $1499.99, and shipments will begin on 18 February 2025.
