In late January, Samsung released new software updates for several mid-range Galaxy A series smartphones in the US. These updates include the January 2025 security patch and are available for the Galaxy A23 5G, Galaxy A32 5G, Galaxy A35 5G, and Galaxy A53 5G.

Here's What We Know

Except for the Galaxy A35, all devices were released three or more years ago, but they still receive regular security updates. The first update for 2025 can be identified by the build numbers A236USQS9EYA1, A326U1UESHDXL1, A356U1UES4AYA1, and A536U1UESCEYA3 for the Galaxy A23, A32, A35, and A53, respectively.

These four smartphones receive a number of security fixes as part of the latest update. The January security update for Galaxy devices fixes 29 vulnerabilities that affect the core Android operating system and 22 Samsung-related vulnerabilities (SVEs), which are security issues that affect only Samsung devices.

In the next few months, the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A53 will receive an update to One UI 7, which is based on Android 15. The A23 and A32 models will not receive any further major OS updates.

The January updates for all four smartphones are available mostly for unlocked devices, but carrier-locked variants should receive the update soon.
