Google has begun rolling out Pixel Camera update 9.7.047.702121536.18, which is a minor patch.

Here's What We Know

The update, which was released this week via the Play Store, does not contain any obvious changes that users have noticed, so it is likely to be a bug fix.

The major Pixel Camera 9.7 update was released back in December 2024 as part of a Feature Drop. It introduced new features such as Quick Access Controls. These controls allow users to adjust white balance, brightness, and shadows by simply tapping the side of the viewfinder. This is the previous interface, before the design change that moved all the controls to the bottom of the screen.

Although Quick Access Controls was not officially mentioned in the Pixel Feature Drop, the update itself included new features for the Pixel Fold, including the Made You Look feature, as well as a new Joy character for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold from the film Inside Out. Both foldable smartphones received a new Dual Screen Portrait mode for use on two screens.

Outside of the Pixel Camera app, Instagram now supports Ultra HDR, and Snapchat has a new Photo Picker for system photos.

It is expected that a more significant camera update could be introduced as early as March 2025 as part of the next Pixel Feature Drop.

A new report recently revealed the prices of the Google Pixel 9a with 128GB and 256GB of storage. Google plans to increase the price of the 256GB version of the Pixel 9a.
