Wayne June, the legendary voice of Darkest Dungeon narrator, has passed away

Wayne June, known for his unique voice in the Darkest Dungeon series of games, has died. The news was announced by Red Hook Studios creative director Chris Burassa, who called June "an ancestor, academic, artist, and friend".

Twelve years ago, Red Hook Studios co-founders Chris Burassa and Tyler Sigman approached Jun to provide the voice for the trailer of their indie game. His unique baritone and masterful tone took the project to the next level, making Jun's voice an integral part of the game's atmosphere. Bourassa said: "His inimitable work is woven into the very fabric of our industry in a way that cannot be forgotten."

In addition to his work on Darkest Dungeon, June was known for his audiobooks, including readings of works by Howard Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe.

The cause of death has not been announced.
