Industry first: a film adaptation of a game that hasn't been released yet has been announced! A film based on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is in production.

Screenplays of video games have long been part of popular culture and, despite rare successes, are produced in large quantities. Almost all popular game franchises have been embodied in the form of films, TV series or anime, or these projects are in the process of creation.
But the case of the new game from Microsoft, is out of the general rule.
Here's What We Know
The role-playing game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won't be released until 24 April 2025, but media company Story Kitchen is already working with Sandfall Interactive on its film adaptation.
Story Kitchen, which is currently working on Tomb Raider, Vampire Survivors, Just Cause, Dredge, Ruiner, Shinobi, It Takes Two and a number of other games, has decided to release a film with live actors. The authors want to convey a deep plot and interesting character relationships Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and are confident that they will not only succeed, but the result will cause great interest in the public.
Recall, according to the plot of the game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, every year a mysterious Artist draws a number on some monolith and people of that age die. This time she plans to write the number "33" and to prevent her, a campaign is being prepared, the participants of which must stop the Artist by any means necessary.
The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and will be available immediately on Game Pass.
