Fiat has decided to go back to the 90s, but without nostalgia - the base version of the new Grande Panda doesn't even have a hint of a centre multimedia screen. Where there should be a 10.25-inch display, you will be met by... a piece of plastic. To comfort owners of the "budget" version, Fiat has added a smartphone holder and a USB-port.

Here's What We Know

The asceticism does not end here. On the outside, the small crossover received 16-inch steel discs and halogen headlights of reflector type. In the basic configuration there are manually adjustable mirrors, air conditioning and manual rear door windows. But even the cheapest version uses a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, so Fiat clearly doesn't mind screens - it just wants to make you pay extra for the centre display.

It's also worth noting that even in the most 'empty' configuration, a number of systems and technologies are responsible for safety. There are: emergency call, driver and passenger airbags, front side airbags, front and rear safety curtains, lane keeping assistant, brake assist, SLI (speed limit information), driver fatigue monitoring.

A legitimate question arises, how cheap is the base version of the Fiat Grande Panda? In Fiat's homeland in Italy, a car with a three-cylinder turbo engine, Mild Hybrid technology and 6-speed automatic transmission eDCT costs from 18 900 euros including 22% VAT. For those who don't want to look at a piece of plastic in the front panel, for an extra 1,500 euros you can upgrade to the next level of equipment, where there will be a screen, LED headlights, cruise control, a split-folding rear sofa backrest, power windows for all doors and some other features.
