Yesterday Sony and studio Nixxes released the PC version of the superhero action game Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which was originally released on PS5 in late 2023 and received the highest marks from critics and gamers.

Unfortunately, PC users were not able to share the delight of the game with their console "colleagues".

Here's What We Know

Players are not stingy with negative reviews and often expressed the opinion that the port of Marvelʼs Spider-Man 2 is the worst of all Sony games on PC.

Users are dissatisfied with a huge number of technical problems and frankly poor optimisation, which does not allow you to pass the game normally, even if the computer meets all the system requirements.

Many players have Marvelʼs Spider-Man 2 crashes every few minutes, others complain about bugs and driver problems, characters suddenly disappear and, in general, the game is not even close to the level of the PS5 version.

Probably, some problems will be fixed by patches, but it should be noted that the game uses such complex technologies that it's almost impossible to adapt them at a decent level for a huge number of PC configurations, because all the elements of the game were originally created for the PlayStation 5 architecture.

These problems also affected the interest in Marvelʼs Spider-Man 2. Peak online game was modest and barely reached 18 thousand players - for comparison, the first part of Marvelʼs Spider-Man registered 66,436 simultaneous players.

The sequel's result was much worse than Sony's ported games such as:

  • Days Gone - 27,450 (people at peak online);
  • God of War Ragnarok - 35,615;
  • The Last of Us Part I - 36,496;
  • Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition - 40,462;
  • Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition - 56,557;
  • God of War - 73,529;
  • Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTORʼS CUT - 77,154.
