No "Gulf of America!" Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum urged Google not to rename the Gulf of Mexico in violation of the UN Convention

Realising his aggressive foreign policy, US President Donald Trump on the first day after taking office ordered to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
Google immediately confirmed that its maps and search engine would change accordingly and American users would see the new names, while it would not change (yet) in other countries.
The decision was opposed by many public personalities and could not be ignored by the President of Mexico.
Here's What We Know
The head of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, has repeatedly spoken out against Trump's statements. Immediately after he started voicing his claims to Greenland, she suggested that the US give up the territories that historically belonged to Mexico and even showed the relevant map.
Now, speaking at a press conference, Claudia Sheinbaum presented an official letter addressed to Google's management, in which she emphasised that the US, like any other country, according to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, cannot unilaterally change the name of a water body located in international waters.
The U.S. can only change the names of 12 nautical miles along its from the coast.
Eager to illustrate the absurdity of Trump's decision, the Mexican head of state asked Google to have her search engine show a historical map from 1607 for the query "Mexican America".

We'll have to wait to see what Google decides, but it's clear that Trump has more leverage over the company than Claudia Sheinbaum.
