On the 30th of January Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was released on PC. Gamers almost unanimously called this port the worst among all Sony games.

In the PC-version of the game was found a lot of technical problems, and because of high system requirements and poor optimisation it is almost impossible to pass it on weak and medium computers. However, a detailed review of the action revealed that not everything is so bad and the new version of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 even has advantages compared to the game on PS5.

Here's What We Know

ElAnalistaDeBits channel published a detailed analysis of the PC port of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which compared it with the PS5 version.

According to the author, in the PC version, the quality of ray tracing has been significantly improved. This is noticeable by more shadows, as well as shading of the environment and high-quality reflections. The drawing distance is also higher on PC than in the console version, and Ray Reconstruction further improves the look of some reflections and shadows.

Analysis shows that Marvel's Spider-Man 2's settings on PlayStation 5 Pro are consistent with "high" and "very high" on PC.

Light shadows look better on the console, especially at a distance, and some elements have a higher clarity. This is due to the performance of the PSSR scaling technology (only available on PlayStation 5 Pro), which generally provides a smaller performance boost than Nvidia's DLSS on PC.

The author of the video also noted two significant downsides to Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PC:

  1. Random crashes and crashes that occur for no specific reason.
  2. The game does not support the new Multi Frame Generation technology (generates up to three extra frames for every regular frame), which is available to users of GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards from Nvidia, although DLSS 4 is supported.

Probably, some problems of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PC will be fixed by the nearest patches, but for now it's possible to comfortably play the superhero action game only on powerful computers.
