Borderlands 4 will have 'billions of weapons and accessories', says Gearbox producer
Following its big debut at The Game Awards 2024, Borderlands 4 is set to show off more gameplay later this year. Gearbox has already confirmed key features such as cross-play and split-screen co-op for two players, but senior producer Anthony Nicholson also highlighted one of the franchise's staples: weapons. There are a lot of them. In fact, billions of them.
Here's What We Know
In a conversation with GamesRadar, Nicholson explained that the team is constantly expanding the range of weapons, manufacturers, and legendary gear, offering even more customisation and player expression. This means that fans can expect an amazing arsenal in the upcoming sequel. While some long-time players may roll their eyes at the sheer amount of loot, Gearbox is aiming to make rare finds even more exciting.
When asked about potential changes to the rarity system, Nicholson said that the studio wants to create "exciting moments" when players discover unique or unexpected items. While this doesn't mean that every drop will be valuable, it should make the hunt more rewarding.
