Apple is preparing to unveil PowerBeats Pro 2, an updated version of its popular wireless headphones. According to journalist Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the official sales launch will take place on 11 February and the device will be priced at $250.

What's new about the PowerBeats Pro 2?

  • H2 chip - the same as in the AirPods Pro 2, providing stable connectivity and low latency
  • Improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) - better at blocking out external sounds compared to the first version
  • Heart rate monitoring - a first for an Apple headphone (previously only available on the Apple Watch)
  • New colours - the bright orange variant stands out among them

Context and expectations

Apple's Beats division has been hinting at the imminent announcement of the PowerBeats Pro 2 for months, and some athletes have already worn them publicly. This confirms that the device is aimed primarily at active users and sports enthusiasts.

The original PowerBeats Pro, released in 2019, became one of the most popular sports headphones due to its comfortable fit and standalone performance. The updated model retains that format, but offers improved sound and new technology.
