In 2014, Sony announced WiLD, an open-world game by Rayman creator Michel Ancel. After years of development, the project was cancelled in 2021. Recently, former Sony executive Shuhei Yoshida shared his vision of the reasons for this decision.

Here's What We Know

In an interview with MinnMax, Yoshida noted that although WiLD had many great ideas, they did not translate into a clear game structure. According to him, the initial concepts were extremely ambitious, including a map the size of Europe. However, these ideas failed to translate into actual gameplay.

WiLD was planned as a game set in prehistoric times. Players would have to control a character with shamanic powers that allow them to control animals to spy or fight other tribes.
