Latvia starts production of Patria 6×6 armoured personnel carriers for Ukraine
Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Anatoliy Kutsevol visited the production of the first batch of Patria 6×6 armoured personnel carriers for the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

During a working visit to Valmiera on 3 February, he got acquainted with the process of manufacturing combat vehicles. The visit took place as part of meetings with local officials, including Mayor Jānis Baiks and representatives of the Defence Partnership of Latvia LLC.
Earlier it was reported that Latvia is preparing military assistance to Ukraine for 2025, which will include the supply of Patria armoured personnel carriers, drones and military training. The exact number of armoured vehicles is not yet known, but they are likely to be in a command-and-control version.

The Patria 6×6 is being produced as part of the international Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, which involves Finland, Latvia, Sweden and Germany. The procurement is partially funded by the EU.
The Patria 6×6 is a modern multi-purpose armoured personnel carrier that can overcome difficult terrain, water obstacles and reach speeds of up to 100 km/h. The vehicle is equipped with armour protection in accordance with STANAG 4569 standards, which allows it to withstand shelling, shell fragments and mine explosions. The vehicle's crew compartment can accommodate up to 10 soldiers, and its modular design allows for the installation of various weapons, including 12.7 mm machine guns, grenade launchers and combat modules.
