The largest IT companies in the world have joined the development of their own AI technologies and, of course, such a giant as Google could not stay aside from the global trend.

The company has long been investing huge funds in this direction, but in 2025 the amount will be much larger than before.

Here's What We Know

In its 2024 financial report, Google said it plans to spend "approximately $75 billion" on AI investments in 2025. By comparison, Google spent $32.3 billion in 2023.

The corporation did not specify the purposes for which such significant money will be allocated, but it is assumed that most of it will go to opening new servers, creating additional infrastructure and developing existing AI technologies, as well as developing new features for them.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai said in a call with investors that the company has "very good ideas for native advertising concepts" in Gemini, and also hinted that Google plans to introduce new AI-powered search features "to users throughout 2025".

The financial report said that AI continues to generate revenue for Google. Total revenue grew 12% year-on-year (to $96.5bn). Google Cloud revenue grew 10% to $12bn, "driven by growth in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) across core GCP products, AI infrastructure and generative AI solutions".
