Snapchat is working on its own image generation tool using artificial intelligence. Previously, the company used third-party solutions, including Google Gemini and OpenAI ChatGPT.

Here's What We Know

Now, Snap's parent company has presented its own text-graphic AI model designed for mobile devices.

According to TechCrunch, the new tool allows creating high-resolution images in just 1.5 seconds on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The main feature of the model is its ability to work directly on the device, which reduces the cost of computing resources compared to cloud solutions.

The company's official blog states that Snapchat has many years of experience in optimising AI models and is inspired by innovations that make these technologies more accessible.

The tool is expected to become a part of Snapchat in the coming months and will be used to generate AI Snaps as well as Bitmoji background images. This will allow Snapchat to add new features without third-party developers. However, the effectiveness of AI will depend on the power of the device it is used on.

Recently, it became known that Google's AI will be able to call companies and find out prices for users. Google has started testing a new experimental feature called Ask for Me, which allows Google Search users to make calls to businesses using artificial intelligence. The feature is currently available through Search Labs and is working with car repair shops and beauty salons.
