Thanks tonumerous insider reports, there is little doubt that the highly praised games Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will soon lose their status of PlayStation console exclusives and will be released on other platforms.

Authoritative insider NateTheHate shared fresh information about the plans of Square Enix, which, remember, refuses to release exclusive games and wants to be represented on as many devices as possible.

Here's What We Know

NateTheHate is sure that within a few weeks the Japanese publisher will announce the release of Final Fantasy XVI on Xbox Series, and soon after that will be the release of the game on American consoles.

This will be followed by the announcement of the Xbox versions of Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which are expected to be released in the second half of 2025.

NateTheHate also has no doubt that the Japanese developers plan to port the sixteenth instalment of the iconic series to the Nintendo Switch 2 as well, but that process is currently on hold in favour of releasing FF VII Remake and Rebirth on the new handhelds. The timing of these releases insider does not yet call.

Recall that in addition to PlayStation, all of these games were released on PC, where they also receive positive reviews, but are not distinguished by high sales. That's why Square Enix decided to abandon exclusivity, as such a system of work ceased to bring profit.
