After almost a year off, Rooster Teeth, known for its projects such as Red vs. Blue, is back in action. The studio's co-founder Burnie Burns announced the acquisition of the brand and plans to resume its operations in 2025.

Here's What We Know

In 2024, Warner Bros. announced the closure of Rooster Teeth after 21 years of operation. However, Burns, through his company Box Canyon Productions, bought the brand and some of its assets. He plans to return to the studio's roots, focusing on innovation, community engagement, and creativity that once made it successful.

It is worth noting that not all projects will return under the wing of the revived studio. Spin-offs such as FunHaus and Achievement Hunter, as well as the RWBY franchise, the rights to which belong to Viz Media, are not part of the deal. Currently, the revived Rooster Teeth consists of only two employees - Burns himself and his wife Ashley. More information is promised in future episodes of the Morning Somewhere podcast.

Burns emphasised that the goal is to "clean up our little corner of the internet" by returning Rooster Teeth to its roots and restoring the community's trust.
