About 100 developers left Bandai Namco due to the cancellation of some projects

Bandai Namco lost 117 employees in Japan from April 2024 to February 2025. This happened after the cancellation of several projects, including games based on the popular One Piece and Naruto series, as well as a contract project with Nintendo.
Here's What We Know
This is evidenced by the database of the Japan Pension Service, which contains information on the number of people registered by the company in the system of insured employees.
Earlier it was reported that the company used the practice of "oidashi beya" - moving employees to special rooms without tasks to encourage them to voluntarily leave.
Bandai Namco denies using this practice, claiming that decisions to stop game development are based on a comprehensive assessment of the situation, and employees are waiting to be assigned to new projects.
