Obsidian confirms 60 fps mode for Avowed on Xbox Series X after previous claims that it was optional

Obsidian Entertainment has officially confirmed that Avowed will have a 60 fps option on the Xbox Series X console. Earlier, the studio noted that the game would run at 30 fps, as, according to it, a single-player game "doesn't necessarily need 60 fps".
Here's What We Know
In an interview with MinnMax, game director Carrie Patel confirmed that Avowed will be available in 60 fps on Xbox Series X. Details about the resolution in this mode were not disclosed.
Earlier, in 2024, art director Matt Hansen said that the team decided to focus on 30 fps for Avowed because it allows for "richer visuals and lighting". He also added that performance optimisation is "one of the last stages of development".
Avowed is a new role-playing game by Obsidian set in the Pillars of Eternity universe. The game is scheduled for release on 18 February 2025 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. The game will be available from day one for Game Pass subscribers.
