According to the latest rumours, Apple is working on a foldable iPhone that looks like it will have a book-style design like the Samsung Galaxy Fold 6. This, as well as other alleged specs, was detailed by insider HaYaO.

Here's What We Know

According to his information, the device's internal screen will have a diagonal of 12 inches, which is larger than previously expected. The phone will be 9.2mm thick when folded and 4.6mm thick when unfolded. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 is 5.6mm thick when unfolded and 12.1mm thick when folded.

The screen will also reportedly come from Samsung, which is developing UTG Lens technology exclusively for Apple. The hinge of the device is designed by Apple, but its manufacturing will be outsourced. The middle frame is rumoured to be made of aluminium.

The foldable iPhone will feature a dual rear camera setup with a main camera and a wide-angle camera, both of which will have materials like Apple's flagship devices. For the front camera, a metal lens technology is being considered, which could debut on the iPhone 17. This optical lens is lighter than traditional lenses and could make room for other components.

Like other foldable phones, the foldable iPhone could have two batteries with a total capacity of 5,000 mAh. The Apple supplier is rumoured to be using 3D stacking technology to reduce the size of the battery without reducing its capacity.

The device is rumoured to be scheduled for release in autumn 2026, likely alongside the iPhone 18, with a foldable iPad MacBook hybrid to be announced a year later, in 2027.
