Israeli Navy successfully tests Gabriel 5 anti-ship missile
The Israeli Navy, in cooperation with the Defence Research and Development Directorate (DDRD) of the Israeli Ministry of Defence and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), conducted a working test of the Gabriel 5 missile.
Here's What We Know
During the tests, the missile, launched at a target that simulated an enemy vessel, successfully completed the detection and destruction processes in realistic conditions.
The Gabriel 5 is a long-range anti-ship missile capable of operating in various sea and atmospheric conditions. It has a range of up to 400 km, enabling it to engage a wide range of maritime threats. It is also known as the Advanced Surface Attack Missile (ASAM) and has been in service with Israeli Sa'ar 5 corvettes since at least 2007.

An additional version of the missile called the Advanced Naval Attack Missile has also been developed, equipped with an active radar homing system and a two-way data link, with a range of 150 km. This version was also purchased by Finland for its Hamina and Pohjanmaa class ships.
The Israeli Navy continues to introduce technologies to enhance the combat capabilities of the fleet, in particular on the new Sa'ar 6 corvettes. The Gabriel 5 missile, developed by IAI, is a key element in ensuring their effectiveness in modern maritime operations.
