Alkimia Interactive and THQ Nordic, as promised, have published the first episode of the documentary mini-series dedicated to the development of the remake of the cult RPG Gothic.

Here's What We Know

In the debut episode of Making Of, the developers paid attention to their memories of getting to know the legendary game from 2001. They expressed their regret that such a famous franchise was forgotten, and its last game Arcania: Fall of Setarrif, which was released in 2011, turned out to be so awful that the word "Gothic" was even removed from it due to the justified anger of fans.

The authors once again emphasised that their main goal was to preserve the atmosphere and basic gameplay mechanics of the original Gothic. They wanted the new elements to refresh the game, but not change it too much.

The Alkimia Interactive team didn't give a release date for Gothic Remake, but they did reveal some other interesting news: they plan to release a demo of the updated game at the end of February as part of Steam Next Fest.

The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
