A few days ago, buyers of Sid Meier's Civilisation VII extended editions got a preview of the strategy game and were extremely dissatisfied with its quality. There was a lot of criticism about the interface, graphics and some mechanics of the game. Firaxis Games studio responded to the comments and published an appeal to gamers.

Here's What We Know

The developers thanked the public for their interest in Sid Meier's Civilisation VII and buying the game, and expressed their appreciation for constructive criticism.

Firaxis said that they are already working on fixing the shortcomings of Sid Meier's Civilisation VII and some of the innovations will be added in the nearest patches.

For now, the studio is focusing on three main areas:

  • General interface improvements: making interactions more intuitive, improving map readability, fixing formatting, and more;
  • adding features demanded by the community: team multiplayer, local co-op, customising city names and religions, and increasing the number of maps;
  • general improvements to Civilisation 7 will be added in patch 1.1.0. It will tweak the interface, balance, improve the behaviour of AI, make changes to the system of diplomacy and crises, as well as fix bugs.

Of course, the work on the game will not end here, there are many more fixes, improvements, content updates and paid DLCs to come. We can only hope that this will improve Sid Meier's Civilisation VII, as the first players left only 40% positive feedback about the game.

Sid Meierʼs Civilization 7 is set for a full release on 11 February on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
