Ahead of Samsung's Galaxy S25 unveiling, website SmartPrix and insider OnLeaks shared CAD renders of the alleged S25 Slim. However, Samsung unveiled a very different device at Unpacked - the Galaxy S25 Edge. It has since become clear that the renders were inaccurate and even the "Slim" moniker was incorrect. Now SmartPrix in collaboration with OnLeaks have published a follow-up post explaining what went wrong with the early renders and reported new information about the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Here's What We Know

According to a new report, Samsung has been testing two prototypes of the Galaxy S25 Edge. The first leaked renders were based on an early prototype that featured three cameras and a slightly thicker design. However, Samsung eventually opted for a different version - the thinner B prototype - with just two cameras and a more compact form factor.

This decision made the previous renders inaccurate, as the final design differs in both thickness and camera setup. The new report claims that the Galaxy S25 Edge will measure 158.2 x 75.5 x 5.84 mm, making it one of the thinnest flagship smartphones ever. The thinner body of the S25 Edge results in a much larger camera, bringing the overall thickness to 10mm.

Another well-known insider Ice Universe said that he is verifying these data and at the same time added that the novelty "really" has a 3900 mAh battery, which was previously rumoured, and will also get a main camera module with a 200 MP HP2 main sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The telephoto lens, according to an insider, is not included in this model.

According to other rumours, the smartphone is expected to feature a 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a minimum of 12GB of RAM, support for 25W charging, and a body with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and an aluminium frame.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be unveiled in April or May this year.
