President Donald Trump's lawsuit against the company formerly known as Twitter seems to be over.

Here's What We Know

Trump sued the social network for blocking him after 6 January 2021, when Trump supporters stormed the Capitol. Although a federal judge dismissed the lawsuit in 2022, the former president's lawyers continued to appeal.

Shortly after the judge's decision, Elon Musk (who has become a key Trump ally) acquired Twitter (now known as X) and reinstated Trump's account. Subsequently, Facebook and other platforms also reinstated Trump's account, although he still publishes most of his social media posts on Truth Social, which is owned by Trump Media Technology Group.

The court filing states that all parties are asking the court to dismiss the case. The document does not provide details of the agreement between Trump and X, except that both parties cover their own costs.

In January, Meta agreed to pay $25 million to settle a similar lawsuit over Trump's ban on Instagram and Facebook.

Elon Musk wanted to set up an office in the centre of the White House. However, the Trump administration decided to create a new Department of Government Efficiency in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

Trump criticises the EU for fines against Apple, Google and Facebook. Trump said that the EU has won $15 or $16 billion from Apple, billions from Google and, in his opinion, is also trying to get billions from Facebook.
