Ukraine increases supply of drones to troops to 200,000 per month

The level of supply of unmanned systems, primarily FPV drones, to the Ukrainian Defence Forces has increased to about 200,000 units per month.

This was announced by First Deputy Minister of Defence Ivan Havryliuk. According to him, at the beginning of 2024, the monthly production of FPV drones was 20,000, and now this number has increased tenfold and continues to grow. In addition to FPV drones, other unmanned systems are being supplied, including those received as part of international assistance.

The Ministry of Defence is also working to introduce ground-based robotic systems used for logistics, mining, demining and casualty evacuation.

In October 2024, the Ministry of Defence reported that in 10 months, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, it had contracted 1.6 million UAVs of various types for more than UAH 114 billion. These include long-range drones, FPV kamikazes, reconnaissance drones, attack copters and unmanned aerial vehicles. At that time, 1.28 million drones worth UAH 81 billion had been delivered, and another 366,940 units were planned to be delivered by the end of the year. By 2025, 155,205 UAVs worth UAH 32.33 billion have already been contracted.

Defence Minister Rustem Umerov said that in 2024, 96.2% of all drones for the Defence Forces were manufactured in Ukraine. In particular, Ukrainian enterprises produced more than 1.5 million FPV drones.
