Vitality defeats Spirit 3-0 in the final of the Counter-Strike 2 tournament IEM Katowice 2025
Vitality won the Counter-Strike 2 tournament IEM Katowice 2025, defeating Team Spirit in the final with a score of 3:0. This is the first major trophy for Vitality after their triumph at IEM Cologne 2024 and the first after the signing of former FaZe star Robin "ropz" Kuhl.
Here's What We Know
Vitality started the final by winning the Dust2 map with a score of 13-6. Robin "ropz" Kuhl scored 26 kills and only 9 deaths, dominating the T-side in the second half. On the Nuke map, Mathieu "ZywOo" Herveaux had an outstanding performance with 26 kills and only 6 deaths. The final map, Mirage, ended with a score of 13-11 in favour of Vitality. Spirit managed to equalise the score in the second half, but Vitality managed to take the upper hand in the final rounds.
This victory was the first for Vitality at IEM Katowice in the organisation's history. The team captain, Dan "apEX" Madesclair, lifted the trophy in Katowice for the first time in the 11 years of the tournament's existence. In addition, ZywOo equaled the legendary Alexander "s1mple" Kostylev in the number of tournament MVP awards, now having 21 for each.
