The new Ford Pro Delivery Assist system automatically turns off the engine, closes windows, locks doors and activates the emergency alarm when delivery van drivers make stops

Ford Pro Commercial Vehicles Division has developed new technology to optimise important tasks that drivers regularly perform during stops. Delivery Assist can automatically switch off the engine, close windows, lock doors and switch on emergency lights. This helps businesses become more productive, saving seconds per stop and potentially allowing for more deliveries.
Here's What We Know
According to the creators of Delivery Assist, the technology also increases the peace of mind of drivers and fleet managers by ensuring that vans remain safe while drivers leave the vehicle to make deliveries. It is also designed to reduce the number of tasks drivers need to remember, allowing them to focus on their surroundings.
Once the driver has left the parcel, Delivery Assist also simplifies the exit process. The van can be unlocked using the keyless entry system, and pressing the brake pedal will restart the engine and return the windows to their previous position. Drivers can customise the windows, emergency lights and door locking automation to suit their needs.
Delivery Assist is currently only available on 2025 model year Ford E-Transit vans and diesel Transit EcoBlue vans with automatic transmission. It will also be available on the new E-Transit Custom 2.5 and Transit Custom 2.6 with automatic transmission, with first deliveries expected in summer 2025.
