London-based Nothing, headed by Carl Pei, has announced that its new Phone 3a series smartphones will be produced in India.

Here's What We Know

The models are expected to be released in the coming weeks, both in the Indian and global markets. The new products will be the successors to last year's Phone 2a series.

The smartphones will be assembled at the Nothing plant in Chennai, which employs more than 500 people, 95% of whom are women. The company has not yet announced whether the devices will be exported outside India.

The announcement of Phone 3a production coincides with a period of active growth for Nothing. The brand has already sold more than 7 million devices worldwide and exceeded $1 billion in total revenue. In India, the company has 7,000 retail stores and 300 service centres.

Nothing Phone (3a) specifications

Official technical details have not yet been disclosed, but it is known that the lineup will include the Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro models. The Phone 3a is expected to feature a 6.8-inch AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor.

The cameras will also be improved: 50 MP main module, 8 MP ultra-wide and 50 MP telephoto lens. The front camera is 32 MP. Power will be provided by a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.

The Phone 3a is expected to launch on 4 March via Flipkart and official Nothing stores. More details on pricing and availability will be revealed closer to the launch.

Recently, it became known that the Nothing brand may be preparing to release new wireless headphones, which are currently under development. The model of the future audio product was spotted in the SGS Fimko certification.
