Apple CEO Tim Cook supports young musicians and artists at Super Bowl LIX
Apple CEO Tim Cook visited New Orleans over the weekend, where Super Bowl LIX took place on 11 February 2025. Cook spent a few days in the city and shared his impressions of the trip via a short video on social media.
Here's What We Know
It all started with a visit to the Ellis Marsalis Centre for Music (EMCM), where Tim saw how young musicians can grow with Apple technology. Here, the company actively supports projects for young talent by providing equipment and grants.
Cook went on to the popular Domilise's Po-Boy restaurant, where he tasted local dishes with famous NFL player Odell Beckham Jr. and met with country singer Shabuzy.
During the visit, Cook also visited the Apple Music Radio studio, where daily broadcasts for Super Bowl LIX were broadcast, featuring music from New Orleans. In addition, he visited the Apple store in the Lakeside shopping centre, where he spoke with students who were learning how to use GarageBand.
Spent an amazing weekend in New Orleans with students, team members, athletes, and some of the most impactful artists making music today. And it was all capped off by a fantastic game and halftime show! Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles! pic.twitter.com/1dNZ7yykso

Just before the game, Cook witnessed the NFL Host Committee's parade, which featured a specially sponsored Apple Music-themed carnival ground. It was designed by young artists from Arts New Orleans using iPads and Apple Pencils.
Cook concluded his trip by watching the Super Bowl halftime show with Kendrick Lamar, which was part of an Apple Music-sponsored programme. He thanked New Orleans for its hospitality in a video he posted upon his return home.
