Trump's executive order carried out: Google maps renames the Gulf of Mexico to the American Gulf of Mexico
Google has complied with President Trump's executive order and renamed the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America.
Here's What We Know
One of the many executive orders signed by Donald Trump on Inauguration Day was to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
Despite No "Gulf of America!" Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum urged Google not to rename the Gulf of Mexico in violation of the UN Convention Claudia Sheinbaum, the US corporation Google has complied with Trump's order and US users now see the new name on Google Maps, while Mexicans still see the familiar name, which has been the most common since the 16th century. For users in the rest of the world, both names are displayed.

Claudia Sheinbaum has already reacted to Google's decision and promised to appeal it. But let's be honest, it's unlikely to change anything about Google's policy and the new US administration.
