Media Player Classic is back: Windows users can install an updated version of the famous programme

A new version of Media Player Classic, which was discontinued in 2017, is now available to Windows users.

Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (MPC-HC) 2.4.0, is a fork of the original Media Player Classic, which added many new features and improvements to become a more modern and functional media player, using the source code of the original programme.

Here's What We Know

Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (MPC-HC) 2.4.0 can be installed for free by following the link.

Here are some key changes and new features:

  • updated LAV filters to version 0.79.2-27-gd98fc;
  • updated MPC Video Renderer to version 0.9.3.2363;
  • play and pause are combined into one button;
  • fixed rare crash on some PGS subtitles with negative position value;
  • added ability to search and load subtitles automatically or manually;
  • the ability to rotate, flip, mirror, stretch and zoom video;
  • integrated support for HDR video using madVR or MPC Video Renderer;
  • added a dark design theme and the ability to customise the height of the scroll slider and the size of the panel buttons.
