Price from €46,150: Audi has unveiled the new base version of the Q4 e-tron with a 63 kW⋅h battery pack

German carmaker Audi has announced a new entry-level version of its Q4 e-tron electric crossover. Starting this month, the Q4 40 e-tron will get a larger capacity battery pack and will replace the Q4 35 e-tron introduced last year.
Here's What We Know
The Audi Q4 35 e-tron is equipped with a battery with a nominal capacity of 55 kW⋅h (52 kW⋅h usable) and an electric motor with an output of 125 kW. This configuration provides a range on the WLTP cycle of up to 365 kilometres for the Sportback version and 355 kilometres for the regular version.
With the new Q4 40 e-tron battery system with a nominal capacity of 63 kW⋅h (59 kW⋅h useful), the range is up to 423 kilometres in the Sportback version and up to 412 kilometres in the regular version. Incidentally, a similar battery is already used in related models on the MEB platform, such as the VW ID.3 Pro and Skoda Elroq 60. Similar to these models, the Audi Q4 40 e-tron also gets a more powerful version of the APP310 electric motor, developing 150 kW (204 hp) and 310 N⋅m of torque. The motor is mounted on the rear axle.

In the Q4 40 e-tron, Audi is also introducing a feature previously used in other models on the MEB platform: in addition to automatic battery preheating during charging planning, a manual battery preheating mode is now available. The warm-up is activated via the MMI interface, which shows how many kilowatts are currently available for fast battery charging and how much additional charging power is available thanks to the pre-prepared battery.
In addition, the 'myAudi' mobile app will be complemented by a predictive maintenance reminder function that provides an overview of the status of key components. A colour display informs about the current status of the brake pads, the 12-volt battery and the expiry date of the first aid kit.
Audi's switch from a 52 kW⋅h battery and 125 kW motor to a 59 kW⋅h battery and 150 kW motor in the base version of the Q4 has had an expected impact on the car's price. In Germany, prices for the Q4 40 e-tron start from €46,150 and the Q4 Sportback 40 e-tron from €48,150. The previous base version was available from €45,600/47,600.
